The conflict between Israel and Iran began on June 13, 2025 and is still very complicated, affecting the security and safety of people in these two countries, including the Vietnamese community in the area.

On June 13, 2025, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the highest recommendation to Vietnamese citizens about not going to these two countries, those in Iran and Israel should soon have a plan to move and evacuate.

In the face of the escalating conflict, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has immediately activated the mechanism of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Steering Committee on Citizen Protection, promptly discussed with the Ministries of Public Security, National Defense, and Vietnamese representative agencies in the war zone to assess the situation and develop a protection plan to ensure safety for citizens, the headquarters of the representative agency, and plans to evacuate Vietnamese citizens at hot spots to return home.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son promptly sent words of encouragement, visits and instructions to Ambassadors, staff of the Embassy and citizens of Vietnam living and working in Israel and Iran.

As of June 13, 2025, there are a total of 37 Vietnamese citizens and 4 people of Vietnamese origin in Iran; in Israel, there are more than 700 Vietnamese citizens/person of Vietnamese origin living and working, including members of representative agencies and relatives.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Iran and officials staying in the area are safe, maintaining normal operations and regularly keeping in touch with the remaining 11 citizens (mainly long-term residents in Iran).

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has opened the registration of wishes to return home to the Vietnamese community in place, preparing detailed travel and evacuation plans to coordinate with Vietnamese representative agencies in neighboring countries and domestic authorities to implement as soon as necessary.
