According to Xinhua News Agency, after making landfall for the first time, Typhoon Ba Vi circled out to sea and made landfall for the second time in Yue Qing city about 20 minutes later.
Zhejiang provincial authorities forecast heavy rain in coastal areas and the possibility of flash floods, traffic disruptions, rivers overflowing and agricultural land flooding.
It is forecast that Typhoon Ba Vi will continue to move northwest and gradually weaken. Due to the impact of Typhoon Ba Vi, heavy rain is forecast to continue to occur in the coastal area, the central and southern areas of Zhejiang province as well as causing heavy and very heavy rain to the western areas of the province on July 12.
Before the storm made landfall, as of the morning of July 11, Chinese authorities had evacuated 1.72 million people to safe places.
Agencies, schools, transportation and outdoor activities have been suspended, more than 400 flights and dozens of trains have been canceled in Zhejiang province.
