Ukrainian soldiers internal conflict, pointing guns at each other

The conflict broke out between Ukrainian soldiers and military intelligence forces at a treatment area near Kiev, stemming from a dispute over the right to use the facility.

Local media reported that a group of soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) opened fire in a fight with members of the Military Intelligence Service (HUR) in a dispute over which side hired a treatment facility.

According to Ukrainian soldiers present at the scene, the incident occurred on the evening of December 3 (local time). At that time, HUR members "broke down the gate and broke the fence" and stormed the October infirmary in the suburbs of Kiev.

The HUR initially fired shots directly at the target and shot them into the ground, while arresting 10 soldiers, causing them to be significantly injured. These were later released, while the HUR group continued to hold power inside the dispute facility.

In a response to the media, HUR said its soldiers were legally present, as the landowner had signed direct agreements with one of the military units until the end of martial law.

According to HUR, these agreements do not require further approval under current law, and the documents of other units have been revoked by military management agencies. The agency also refused to let local police and military personnel approach.

However, evidence collected by local media shows the opposite, since the conflict with Russia broke out, the group of Ukrainian soldiers have rented a nursing facility, used under the orders of the Army Command, with full approval from the Kiev military government and the facility's management board.

The buildings here have been sealed and not used after the fight.

The Military Police Agency and the State Investigation Agency (SBI) were summoned to the scene, but the SBI did not appear. Some sources also said that Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi was also present at the scene of the incident.

Previously, in 2020, the court issued a decision to confiscate the nursing home, and in 2022, the SBI announced that the assets had been returned to state ownership. The facility was handed over to the Asset Management and Recovering Agency (ARMA), which valued it at 60.7 million hryvnia ($1.55 million).
