Graeme Mitchley, a teacher from the suburbs of Johannesburg, recorded a clip during a recent visit to the Kruger National Park.
Graeme said that when he drove out of the national park, he saw the giant catching the snake crossing the road and started cutting the meat while it was still alive.
"I felt sorry for the snake and this was not an easy scene to watch. Not many people like snake, but this is a slow and painful death. Even now, when I watch the video again, I still find it creepy, Graeme said.
Graeme explains that snake-eating Agencye usually kill prey by stuck the nails through their bodies, killing them before attacking. But in this case, the banyan chose to slash the snake while it was still alive.
The feet of the bulbs are covered in a thick layer of scales to protect them from snake bites and spraying with venom. In addition, the snake was stuck tightly and may have a broken back, unable to move, making it difficult to counterattack.
