TASS reported that the conclusion of Russian technology giant Rostec shows that this German Leopard 2A6 tank is less efficient than mass-produced Russian tanks such as the T-72B3M, T80BVM and T-90M - the machines that are considered the most suitable for modern combat conditions.
According to Rostec, after carefully analyzing the 2A6 Leopard products, experts concluded that this tank does not have a clear advantage over the main Russian bulls.
Up to now, the T-72B3M, T80BVM and T-90M are mass-produced tanks that are best optimized for modern warfare. They have comprehensive protection against drones and anti-tank missiles - from HEAT shields to explosive reactors and other auxiliary equipment, Rostec emphasized.
The group also gave many examples showing that Russian tanks are highly likely to survive attacks from many directions, still retaining their combat capability.

Not only the Leopard 2A6, the Ukrainian army also operates older versions such as the Leopard 1. The Leopard 1 tanks are outdated and mostly ineffective in the modern combat environment, Rostec said.
On the battlefield, Western tanks, especially the German-made Leopard, were continuously destroyed. The Russian Defense Ministry released a video last week recording the scene of a UAV from the Rubicon Advanced Unmanned Technology Center destroying a Ukrainian Leopard tank near Stepanovka, Donetsk.
The information from Rostec is an indirect response to the West's initial expectations of the superior power of the Leopard tank. In fact, when entering the volatile battlefield in Ukraine, where drones, anti-tank missiles and asymmetrical tactics maximize their effectiveness, technical advantages are no longer the only decisive factor.
The Russian statement also clearly implied: their domestic tanks are not only designed for combat but have been continuously improved to adapt to the characteristics of modern warfare, where defense, mobility and electronic warfare are increasingly playing a key role.
Although this information comes from official Russian sources and needs to be compared with other independent analysis, it is clear that in the arms confrontation between Russia and the West on the battlefield of Ukraine, tanks are also tested in both the wave of technology and new tactics.
