The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on May 18 that leader Kim Jong Un called for strengthening frontline units along the border with South Korea to "prevent war more thoroughly".
The statement was made by Mr. Kim Jong Un at a meeting on May 18 with division and brigade commanders in the North Korean army.
According to KCNA, Mr. Kim Jong Un emphasized that plans to strengthen frontline units and other key units are important to North Korea's defense capabilities.
He also requested to adjust the military training system and expand practical exercises to prepare for changes in modern warfare as well as the development of the North Korean army.
KCNA said that Kim Jong Un called for the implementation of projects to help reshape the operational concept in line with the rapid modernization of military and technical equipment, and apply these changes to the combat training program of units.
