Former South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck Soo will have to appear in court for civil purposes from September 30, with an accusation of assisting former President Yoon Suk Yeol in declaring martial law.

According to legal sources, Han Duck Soo, who attended the preliminary deposition on September 16, was being prosecuted without detention on charges of aiding and aiding in the rebellion. The first trial of former Prime Minister Han Duck Soo will be chaired by Judge Lee Jin Gwan, Criminal Court No. 33.

Previously, on September 28, the group of prosecutors investigating the martial law declaration case accused Mr. Han Duck Soo of many crimes, including creating and using fake documents, violating the President's Office's Record Management Act and making false statements.

Not stopping there, Mr. Han was also accused of making a false statement at the impeachment trial of former President Yoon Suk Yeol at the Constitutional Court on February 20 when he said he was "not aware of the declaration of martial law" and did not prevent former President Yoon from using his arbitrary power to declare martial law while holding the position of Vice Chairman of the State Council.

In addition to former Army Chief of Staff Kang Eui Gu, former Defense Minister Kim Yong Hyun and several other officials have been accused of signing a fake martial law declaration to conceal violations of procedures after the warrant was overturned.
