The Pheu Thai Party on July 27 rejected accusations that the Thailand - Cambodia border war originated from personal or political conflicts.
MP and a spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, Danuporn Punnakanta said that the Thai -Cambodian border fighting came from Cambodia's dissatisfaction with Thailand's efforts to destroy the border fraud lines operating from Cambodia.
Mr. Danuporn Punnakanta also pointed out that Cambodia has refused to participate in the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar to jointly deal with transnational cybercrime and said it will handle the fraud rings in its own way.

This is not an individual conflict or a confrontation between political families like the Shinawatra family and Hun Sen. The problem lies in the consequences of the campaign to suppress cybercrime. Some important figures in Cambodia are being affected and there is growing evidence to show that," said Danuporn Punnakanta.
Pheu Thai Party spokesman Danuporn Punnakanta mentioned Thailand's arrest warrant for Kok An - a suspected person behind fraud activities in Cambodia and a casino owner, and a suspected connection to Cambodian officials. Thai authorities have now frozen many assets and are coordinating with Interpol to conduct international prosecution of those involved in fraud.
Pheu Thai Party spokesman added that although the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border is still tense, Thai security agencies are taking full control and have deployed comprehensive measures to ensure the safety of the people as well as prevent the situation from escalating.
Mr. Danuporn Punnakanta affirmed that the Thai government still prioritizes resolving tensions with Cambodia by peaceful means through existing bilateral channels.
The Thai Foreign Ministry has also established a working force to assess international impacts, coordinate with embassies and prepare humanitarian assistance plans if the conflict continues.
The government attaches great importance to the diplomatic path to cool down tensions. We want the public to rest assured that the issue is being handled on all fronts, from security, military, diplomacy to protecting people's lives and property, all of which are a top priority of the government" - Party spokesperson Pheu Thai emphasized.
