Mr. Starmer is the 7th British Prime Minister to leave office early in the past 10 years. How can it not be tragicomic that Mr. Starmer brought the British Labour Party back to power in the UK after many years in the opposition but now faces a decline in prestige within the UK to the point of being forced to relinquish all power.
Just like that alone is enough to show three prominent characteristics for the socio-political situation in the island nation. First, the socio-political and government crisis in the UK broke out from the time the Conservative Party was still in power and because the UK's exit from the EU (Brexit) after 10 years of Brexit has not yet ended. Internal politics and society continue to be deeply divided.
Second, in the context of such a situation, Mr. Starmer did not meet the expectations and hopes of voters in the island nation when he helped the British Labour Party return to power and Mr. Starmer became British Prime Minister. Mr. Starmer's mistake was that he was not determined to carry out the necessary political, economic and social reforms for the island nation to escape the crisis, but only handled the situation and focused on temporary solutions, not daring to go to power differently from his predecessors in terms of both policy orientation and ways of governing. This person is not better than his predecessors in overcoming the consequences and harmful consequences of Brexit for Britain. Moreover, he has fallen into the scandal of receiving gifts and personnel nomination scandals.
Mr. Starmer brought the British Labour Party back to power but has not given this party policy direction to help build the future for Britain, has not made voters in the island nation believe and be optimistic about the future. Holding power without keeping power is tragicomic for Mr. Starmer personally and possibly for the British Labour Party as well.
