Despite facing a series of unprecedented sanctions, German businesses are still interested in doing business with Russia - according to Andrey Sobolev, Russian Trade Representative to India, former Chief Trade Representative of Russia to Germany for the period 2018-2025.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Innoprom 2025 International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg on July 9, Mr. Sobolev emphasized: German enterprises are still very interested in Russia. Although this interest has been held back by harsh sanctions not only targeting Russia but also targeting German enterprises it is clear that they are still actively maintaining their presence here.
He affirmed that companies that are truly eager to cooperate with Russia always have a way to find an opportunity.
At this year's Innoprom, the participation of German enterprises is mainly recorded from the group of small and medium enterprises - units that tend to be more flexible and seeking for market opportunities in the context of uncertainty globally.
The Innoprom 2025 exhibition takes place from July 7-10, in Yekaterinburg (Russia), with Saudi Arabia as a partner country. The event brings together hundreds of industrial corporations and enterprises from many countries, including many European enterprises.
Speaking at the strategic meeting "Technology leadership: Industrial breakthrough" within the framework of the Innoprom 2025 Exhibition, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said that Russia does not limit the number of countries that the country can cooperate with and is expecting to implement joint projects on the basis of mutual benefit.
Mr. Manturov said that Russia has a solid position in fields such as nuclear industry, space, chemicals, fertilizers, defense industry and some other sectors.
In areas where we are completely confident, have strong capacity and are ready to invite partners to participate in cooperation projects, Mr. Manturov emphasized.
