On March 25 (local time), Iran said it was considering the US proposal to end the conflict in the Middle East, but affirmed that it had no intention of conducting direct negotiations to end the war.
Mr. Abbas Araqchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, said that the messages sent by the US through intermediaries have been conveyed to senior leaders and Tehran will take a position if necessary. He emphasized that mediation "is not synonymous with negotiations with the US".
According to regional sources, Iran demands that Lebanon be included in any ceasefire agreement between this country and the US and Israel.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump said that Iran wants to reach an agreement but does not publicly admit it. He also revealed that Washington has sent a 15-point proposal through Pakistan, including requesting Iran to eliminate high-enriched uranium, stop the enrichment program, limit ballistic missiles and cut support for allied forces in the region.
The White House did not disclose details of the proposal, and warned that it would increase attacks if Iran does not accept it. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt declared that the US President would cause Iran to suffer stronger blows if it did not realize its military defeat.
US military officials said they had attacked more than 10,000 targets in Iran, destroying most of the country's naval, missile and drone capabilities. However, fighting continued with airstrikes by the US and Israel, along with missile and UAV attacks from Iran.
Iran warned that it could expand the conflict to the Red Sea region, especially in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf declared that his country would attack the neighboring country if it supported its opponents to occupy Iranian territory.
The conflict has caused the Strait of Hormuz to be almost blocked, affecting about 1/5 of global supply of oil and liquefied natural gas. In that context, the financial market reacted positively when information about a peace proposal appeared, with oil prices falling and stocks recovering.
