President Donald Trump signed about 200 executive orders, memoranda and proclamations on his first day in office, rescinding directives from President Joe Biden's administration and implementing his "America First" policy.

According to CBS News, Mr. Donald Trump signed the first documents as the 47th president of the United States at the Capitol immediately after taking office, establishing the cabinet and appointing temporary leadership positions of departments and agencies.

Upon arriving at the Oval Office at the White House after 7 p.m. on January 20, the first executive order that Donald Trump signed at the White House was a comprehensive pardon for about 1,500 people involved in the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Mr. Trump said that there were 6 cases that were not fully pardoned because they were pending review. Mr. Trump also signed an executive order on the evening of January 20 asking the Department of Justice not to enforce the law banning TikTok within 75 days. While this ban was supposed to take effect on January 19.

Trump signed several more executive orders before arriving at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, including a call for federal workers to return to work full-time immediately, a freeze on all federal hiring, except for the military and a few other exceptions. He also signed a directive to every department and agency in the federal government to address inflation.

Trump also signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate agreement. He said the United States would save $1 trillion by withdrawing from the agreement. Another executive order signed by Trump called for the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). Trump also ordered the federal government to restore free speech and prevent future government censorship.

Among the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump on his first day in office were an executive order on immigration and borders that launched a crackdown on immigration, assigned the military to border enforcement duties, designated gangs and criminal organizations as terrorist groups, and suspended asylum and refugee admissions.

President Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border and ordered the Department of Defense to mobilize more military resources at the border, tasking officials with deploying more forces to the border. Trump also directed officials to restart construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, restarting a massive, multibillion-dollar government project he championed during his first term.

On his first day in office as President of the United States for the second term, Donald Trump also moved to erase the long-standing interpretation of the 14th Amendment, signing an order directing federal agencies to deny birthright citizenship to children of parents who were illegal immigrants or those with temporary visas. The US government has long interpreted the 14th Amendment to the Constitution as granting citizenship to people born on US soil, regardless of their parents’ immigration status.

Among the executive orders signed by Donald Trump on January 20 were several that focused on the economy, energy production, and the economy, aimed at cutting regulations that have been criticized as bureaucratic. These included declaring a national emergency related to energy costs for American consumers and ending the electric vehicle mandate.

He also signed an executive order focusing on Alaska’s energy production and economy. The state is considered a natural resource of great national security importance, and the Trump administration is trying to boost production of liquefied natural gas for export and domestic use.
