According to published data, exports from China to Russia increased by 11.3% in the first 4 months of the year, reaching about 20.24 billion USD. In contrast, exports of goods and services from Russia to China increased by 37.8%, reaching 30.85 billion USD.
Russia's trade surplus in the first 4 months of the year was 10.61 billion USD, 2.77 times higher than the same period in 2021. In April alone, trade turnover between the two countries reached 12.69 billion USD, 8.7% higher than in March.
About 70% of Russia's imports into China belong to oil, natural gas and coal. In addition, key import items from Russia are copper, copper ore, wood, fuel and seafood, according to TASS.
Meanwhile, China exports many items to Russia, of which the largest proportion is smartphones, industrial and specialized equipment, children's toys, shoes, vehicles, air conditioners and computers.
Under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, two-way trade turnover between the two countries in 2020 decreased by 2.9%, to 107.76 billion USD; in 2021, it increased by 35.8%, reaching a record of 146.88 billion USD.
Previously, Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Han Hui said that Beijing was ready to ensure uninterrupted supply of Russian products to the Chinese market.
