Recently, information and images have been circulating on social media claiming that a group of people were "stealing" after a truck overturned on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway at Km82+950 through Minh Tan commune, Cam Khe district, despite the driver's pleas and cries for help (which happened on the night of September 26).
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on the evening of September 30, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chi - Vice Chairman of Cam Khe District People's Committee said that up to now (4 days have passed), the locality has not received any reports or complaints from drivers.
"However, to avoid any impact on the local image, the district has assigned the police and the People's Committee of Minh Tan commune to verify and clarify. If any cases of people "stealing" are discovered, they will be encouraged to return them, or measures will be taken (if any). At the same time, if any cases of posting or sharing false information are discovered, the authorities will also handle them," Mr. Chi shared.
Informing the press, the representative of the management of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway said that after receiving information about the accident, the authorities were present at the scene, however, there was no "looting" as information spread on social networks.
According to information posted on social media, after the truck overturned on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway, many bags of fertilizer were spilled onto the road. Although the driver "shouted hoarsely for help not to take it", many local people still crossed the highway to carry the bags of fertilizer home.
