The Kuwaiti military said on July 19 that the country's armed forces are "currently responding to threats from hostile missiles and drones", amid Iran's continued attacks in recent days, AFP reported.
Any explosions that can be heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile targets," the Kuwaiti military said via social media platform X. The military also called on people to comply with security instructions issued by Kuwaiti authorities.
In the past week, the US has launched consecutive attacks targeting locations inside Iran, while Tehran has responded by attacking facilities and bases that it believes are used by the US military in some countries in the region, including Kuwait.
The escalation between Washington and Tehran took place despite a memorandum of understanding brokered by Pakistan signed in June to end the war between the two sides and reach a long-term peace agreement.
