An Indian airline airline Air India had another problem while traveling from Hong Kong (China) to New Delhi (India), forcing it to turn around and make an emergency landing. This incident involves a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the same type as the one that had a serious accident in India a few days ago.
Accordingly, flight number AI315 departed from Hong Kong (China) at 12:16 on June 16 (local time). However, just over an hour later, the plane returned to the starting point because the pilot suspected a technical problem while flying.
Data from Flightradar24 confirms the take-off and landing times of the flight. The plane is currently under close inspection to determine the specific cause.
The incident has further raised concerns as just a few days ago, an Air India plane, also known as a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after takeoff in the city of Ahmedabad in western India. The terrible accident claimed the lives of 241 of the 242 people on board the flight to London (UK).
Currently, neither Boeing nor Air India have made an official comment on the incident on flight AI315 from Hong Kong (China) to New Delhi. The continuous incidents with the Dreamliner aircraft are raising big questions about the technical safety of this aircraft, as well as the inspection and maintenance process of the Indian domestic airline.
With two serious incidents in just a few days, aviation authorities are likely to have to strengthen supervision of Air India's operations and review technical safety standards, especially for Boeing 787-8 aircraft operating on international routes.
In the context of increasing concerns, people and passengers are waiting for transparency and commitment to improve from the authorities and relevant parties.
