On December 30, a car ferry capsized off the southwest coast of South Korea, leaving five people missing.
According to the Korea Herald, the Korean Coast Guard has rescued two people and is searching for the remaining victims.
The incident occurred at 6:35 p.m. in the sea near Seosan City, South Chungcheong Province, about 100 kilometers southwest of Seoul. The ferry is believed to have been carrying a total of seven people when it capsized.
The Coast Guard and local rescue agencies are actively searching around the accident site. However, rescue efforts are facing many difficulties due to strong currents and high tides, which are significantly hindering the search operations.
Currently, authorities are working together to quickly resolve the situation and search for missing people.
