Hundreds of people in the group of migrants from South American countries illegally crossed the border from Mexico to the US after a tiring wait. They hope to escape poverty and violence to the promised land.

The legal journey to seek asylum in the US could take months and for some migrants, they could not wait any longer and decided to illegally climb the fence to cross the border.

US officials have decided to limit the number of applications for asylum at border gates on the Mexico border, many migrants from Central America believe that if they illegally cross the border, they will be processed faster. Hundreds of people in groups of migrants from South American countries have crossed the border from Mexico to the US.

Some people decided to climb into a hole under a border wall to illegally cross from Mexico to the US in Tijuana, Mexico.

The first layer of fence is about 3m high but in some locations is lower. Those who illegally cross the border choose a fence that goes through a ditch, not too high for them to climb.

A girl from Honduras looks over the fence, passing over this fence is the promised land. Many migrants are feeling disappointed because they have been stuck for too long in the city of Tijuana, where they have to live in deprived conditions.

After being checked by security, the migrants will be taken to another refugee camp. However, for many, being in the US is a step forward. Their asylum applications will be considered and if they meet the conditions, some will be allowed to stay.

Those who cannot climb the fence will continue to stay in the city of Tijuana - where they live in deprivation.

As soon as the sun had set, some had sought to climb the first fence in Mexico.

The nightfall is also the time when they work harder in the hope of being able to migrate to the promised land to escape poverty and violence.
