US has no plans for new attacks targeting Iran

The US completely shifted its focus to the economic front, calculating that pressure would pull Iran back to the negotiating table.

According to TASS on August 26, the US has no plans to launch new military attacks on Iran in the near future, instead it will focus on other pressure tools on Tehran, including sanctions.

This is the content that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio exchanged with senior diplomatic officials of some countries.

Mr. Rubio made it clear that the US has no plans to return to large-scale military operations," but "he does not rule out the possibility of an attack if Iran takes action first," TASS quoted a US newspaper as saying.

Instead, US officials know Washington will focus on increasing economic pressure on Iran through sanctions and maritime blockades, while "bringing an increasing amount of oil out of the Strait of Hormuz".

Currently, the US is not conducting negotiations with Iran, because Washington believes that "pressure may push Iran back to the negotiating table", according to a US official.
