President Donald Trump said he has reached an agreement with China to allow TikTok to continue operating in the US.

"The major trade talks in Europe between the US and China have gone very well. The negotiations will soon end" - President Donald Trump shared on the social network Truth Social on September 15.

The US president added: "A deal has also been reached regarding a specific company that young people in our country are eager to save. They will be very happy. I will talk to Chairman Xi Jinping on September 19".

Chinese and US diplomats met this week in Madrid, Spain to discuss trade and many other issues.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who led the latest round of US trade talks with China, revealed that TikTok was one of the contents discussed by both sides.

On September 15, Finance Minister Scott Bessent announced that there was a framework for a TikTok-related deal between the US and China. He confirmed that President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a phone call on September 19.

Last year, the US issued a law banning TikTok in this country under President Joe Biden. Under President Trump, a series of decrees to postpone the implementation of TikTok ban laws have been issued, in which the latest decree issued in September postponed the implementation date to September 17.
