According to Mr. Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigation Committee, Ukraine's attacks on Russian territory have killed 1,074 civilians in 44 areas. The information was announced by Mr. Bastrykin in an interview with TASS in Moscow.

Mr. Bastrykin said that since the start of the special military operation, the investigating agency has opened 4,338 criminal cases related to shelling, attacks by missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles of Ukraine targeting 44 Russian areas outside the operational area, along with the invasion of Russian territory in August 2024.

Investigators have recorded more than 11,000 shellings and acts considered terrorists in these areas.

According to published figures, a total of 1,074 civilians were killed in the attacks, including 39 children. In addition, 5,181 others were injured with varying degrees, including 328 minors.

The head of the Russian Investigative Committee emphasized that functional agencies are implementing measures to identify all people involved in the attacks, including Ukrainian military commanders who issued related orders.

He said the investigation focuses on the personal responsibility of those who make decisions and organize military operations against Russian territory.

Mr. Bastrykin also reiterated that some Ukrainian officers have been convicted of absence from Russia. These people include Fyodor Yaroshevich, Rostislav Karpusha - commander of the 19th Missile Brigade of Ukraine; Yevgeny Bulatsik - commander of the 7th Tactical Air Brigade, and Colonel Vladimir Kravchenko - commander of the 40th Tactical Air Brigade.

According to Mr. Bastrykin, they are said to have issued illegal orders to conduct missile attacks targeting Russian territory.

The Russian Investigative Committee said efforts are still underway to identify more officers accused of being involved in these actions, and continue to collect evidence to serve the process of prosecuting responsibility under Russian law.
