Last week, Russia stepped up modern missile strikes such as Kinzhal and Iskander on military infrastructure deep in Ukraine.

Russia attacked the Ukrainian military airport at night with high-precision weapons, the Russian Defense Ministry revealed on August 26.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that this week's attack was carried out with long-range precision weapons, including the Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missile system, as well as drones.

The Russian statement did not specify the specific location of the airport or make any assessment of the damage.

Russian and Ukrainian media said the airport mentioned in the attack belonged to the Starokonstantinov air base in the Khmelnytsky region, western Ukraine.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, in the past week, Russian forces have carried out 6 group attacks, using high-precision weapons and drones.

The attack targets included "Ukrainian defense industry enterprises, fuel and energy facilities, Ukrainian Armed Forces' support port infrastructure, air defense radar stations, ammunition and fuel depots, mines and trawler weapons depots, UAV manufacturing workshops, military airports and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed groups, nationalists and foreign hostages".

explosions were also reported in Kiev and surrounding areas this week, while airstrike warnings were activated in Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and eight areas in western Ukraine, including Lviv, Rivne and Ivano- Frankovsk.

Russia has carried out a number of other high-precision strikes this week. On June 23, the Russian Defense Ministry reported attacks on two Ukrainian military training sites using Iskander missiles.

On the same day, Moscow launched a major attack on a number of Ukrainian military industrial enterprises in the Kiev region, as well as a military airport and a depot of mines and traps used by the Ukrainian Navy.
