26 cruise missiles and 597 attack drones have been launched, more than half of which are Shahed, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on July 12.
Shahed is an Iranian-made drone.
The Ukrainian Air Force said it had shot down 319 Shahed drones and 25 missiles. In addition, 1 missile and about 20 Russian drones have hit 5 locations in Ukraine.
President Zelensky also called on Western allies to take stronger action to prevent the conflict in Ukraine.
The speed of Russian airstrikes requires quick decisions. The airstrikes could be contained immediately through sanctions, the Ukrainian leader said.
Mr Zelensky specifically called for sanctions "for those who help Russia produce drones and make a profit from oil".
Oil exports are very important for the Russian economy, especially in the context of current sanctions from the West.
