The Ukrainian air force said it shot down 138 drones attacking Shahed and 119 others that disappeared while flying. The Ukrainian Air Force also said that 3 drones have flown into Belarus.
The areas of Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Poltava, Kiev and Zaporizhzhia were affected in the latest Russian attack.
On social network X, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the fighting is still ongoing. "We must do everything possible to bring long-term peace and justice to Ukraine," he said.
The record Russian UAV attack came right before the 3rd anniversary of the conflict in Ukraine. Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Currently, the administration of US President Donald Trump seeks a peace deal through direct talks with the group of Russian President Vladimir Putin but without the participation of Ukraine.
President Zelensky has warned that Kiev will not accept any peace agreement signed without the country's participation.
