The US leader also rejected the view that the giant ship - which has been operating at sea for 9 months - was deployed for too long.
Mr. Trump confirmed that USS Abraham Lincoln will soon be replaced by a similar aircraft carrier.
The nuclear aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln left California in November 2025 to perform missions in the South China Sea, then was transferred to the Middle East before the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran from February 28.
US media recently quoted relatives of sailors as saying that living conditions on the USS Abraham Lincoln are deteriorating, and expressed concern about the mental health of the crew. Some sources say that 2 sailors tried to jump off the ship.
Research director at the US Naval Analysis Center (CNA) Jonathan Schroden said that aircraft carrier strike groups are often designed for deployments lasting about 6 months, partly to ensure the health and lives of sailors.
To support the morale and health of the crew, USS Abraham Lincoln has 5 captains, 1 psychologist, 1 social worker, 1 coordinator in charge of prevention and 1 dog named Captain Fathom.
US Acting Navy Minister Hung Cao also said that some cases related to mental health have been handled and no one has died, and criticized the media for trying to portray US soldiers as victims.
The deployment time of USS Abraham Lincoln is extended because the mission requires such a thing. Our success depends on how we adapt," he said.
The US military confirmed that a sailor who fell into the sea on August 3rd was rescued.
