Mr. Trump thanks the American people

At around 3:00 p.m. on November 6, Vietnam time, Mr. Donald Trump appeared on stage in West Palm Beach, Florida, to speak to supporters attending an election night party.

The Republican candidate is predicted to win the 2025 US presidential election, with victories predicted in battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina. Vote counting is still continuing in many other key states.

“I thank the American people for the great honor of being elected your 47th and 45th president,” said Donald Trump.

“Every day, I will fight for you, your families, and your future,” the Republican candidate added. “I will fight with every breath in my body, and I will not rest until we have the strong, safe, and prosperous America that we and our children deserve. This will truly be America’s golden age.”

According to CNN, Mr. Trump appeared on stage with his relatives, including his wife - Mrs. Melania Trump, daughter Ivanka, sons Donald Jr. and Barron, and Republican candidate for US Vice President J.D. Vance.

As of 1:30 p.m. on November 6, Vietnam time, Mr. Donald Trump received 267 electoral votes, 3 votes short of winning. Ms. Kamala Harris received 216 votes.

According to the latest US election results update by Fox News as of 1:00 p.m. Vietnam time, Mr. Donald Trump won 248 electoral votes, while Ms. Kamala Harris remained at 216 as previously updated.

Another battleground state expected to go to Trump

Former President Donald Trump is predicted by CNN to win the important battleground state of Georgia. This state has 16 electoral votes. Candidates in the US presidential election need at least 270 electoral votes to win.

Georgia is a relatively new battleground state in the US presidential elections. This state helped President Joe Biden win the White House in 2020. Georgia turned blue (supporting the Democratic Party) for the first time in nearly 30 years when Mr. Biden won by 11,779 votes.

The state also helped determine which Democrats would control the US Senate in the 2021 midterm elections. The state then backed the Democratic candidate in the Senate again in 2022, helping the Democrats maintain control of the Senate.

Harris postpones election night speech

NBC News reported that Ms. Harris will not address supporters at Howard University on election night, November 5, local time. Instead, Vice President Harris will address the nation on November 6, local time.

The news of Ms. Harris's postponement comes as Mr. Trump is expected to win two key battleground states - North Carolina and Georgia. This victory could narrow Ms. Harris' path to victory in the race for the White House.

Harris' campaign had planned to hold an election night event at Howard University, where she attended college, to monitor the 2024 presidential election.

Trump predicts victory in first battleground state

The Washington Post predicts Donald Trump will win North Carolina, the first battleground state, with 92.3% of the vote counted in the state. Democrats have not won the presidential election there since 2008, when Barack Obama broke a 28-year Republican winning streak in the 16-electoral-vote battleground state.

The Washington Post commented that Donald Trump's victory in North Carolina will improve his chances of winning the 2024 US presidential election because he is the favorite candidate in the newspaper's election forecast in four other battleground states including Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

With North Carolina's support, Mr. Trump could win the US presidential election by winning Georgia, Pennsylvania and Maine's 2nd congressional district. He is supported in all of these states.

Even if Mr Trump loses Pennsylvania, he still has a chance to win enough electoral votes in a variety of ways.

According to Fox News' forecast of US election results, as of 12:10 pm on November 6, Vietnam time, the number of electoral votes won by Ms. Kamala Harris increased to 216, while Mr. Donald Trump increased to 232.

At the same time, AP's election results update showed that Ms. Harris had 210 electoral votes, Mr. Trump had 230 electoral votes.

According to AP's updated US election results, as of 11:25 a.m. on November 6, Vietnam time, Mr. Donald Trump had 230 electoral votes and nearly 56 million popular votes; Ms. Kamala Harris had 187 electoral votes and nearly 51 million popular votes.

According to Fox News's update on US election results, as of 11:00 a.m. on November 6, Vietnam time, Mr. Donald Trump had 216 electoral votes, over 51 million popular votes; Ms. Kamala Harris had 193 electoral votes, over 45 million popular votes.

According to Fox News's update on US election results, as of 10:15 a.m. on November 6, Vietnam time, Mr. Donald Trump had 205 electoral votes, over 42 million popular votes; Ms. Kamala Harris had 117 electoral votes, over 37 million popular votes.

Republicans likely to win battleground Nevada

At 10 p.m. ET on November 5, polls are closing in the battleground state of Nevada, as well as the states of Montana and Utah. Nevada has six electoral votes, while Montana has four and Utah has six electoral votes.

According to CNN's US election results forecast, Mr. Trump won the electoral votes in Montana and Utah. Although the Republican Party has not won Nevada since 2004, this could be the year that breaks that trend.

Nevada, with its large tourism industry, has been hit particularly hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, and its large service workforce is still struggling with high prices. The biggest issue Harris and Trump seem to agree on is ending the tip tax, which is particularly important in the state. Latinos are a key voting bloc in Nevada, making up 17% of the 2020 electorate, according to a CNN exit poll.

At 9:00 a.m. on November 6, Vietnam time, Fox News' 2024 US presidential election results forecast said that Mr. Trump was leading with 178 electoral votes, while Ms. Harris won 113 electoral votes.

Bomb threats delay election progress in many battleground states

At 9:30 p.m. ET on November 5 (9:30 a.m. November 6, Vietnam time), in the final hours of voting in the 2024 US presidential election, in many battleground states, a series of bomb threats were reported affecting the election time.

Pennsylvania: A bomb threat prompted an evacuation at a West Chester municipal building that houses polling locations, according to Josh Maxwell, chairman of the Chester County Board of Elections. Polling dogs are searching the building and the polling location will reopen soon if nothing is found.

Also in Pennsylvania, a judge extended voting in Clearfield County until 9 p.m. ET after a bomb threat was made at the Clearfield County Administration Building, where the election was being held. Clearfield County is located northeast of Pittsburgh.

Michigan and Georgia: Bomb threats at several polling places in Michigan and Georgia led to voting delays as security personnel searched the locations. Twelve polling places in Georgia extended their hours due to bomb threats and three others extended their hours for other reasons.

Wisconsin also received threats that appeared to be aimed at disrupting voting, a US official said. Arizona's Navajo County also received "unfounded" bomb threats at four polling locations.

In Massachusetts - a state with 11 electoral votes and in Maryland - a state with 10 electoral votes, Ms. Kamala Harris is also predicted to win. President Joe Biden won both of these states in the election 4 years ago.

The first polling stations are about to close.

Polls in some states are closing early. However, in some states, voting hours have been extended.

North Carolina: Two polling stations — one in Burke County in the western part of the state and one in Wilson County, east of Raleigh — will close at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 5, giving voters an extra half hour to vote. The two polling stations were slow to open to voters early on Election Day due to technical issues.

Georgia: Two polling places in Gwinnett County will remain open until 7:58 p.m. ET after being briefly closed today due to threats, Gwinnett County Government Communications Director Joe Sorenson said. Two polling places in Cobb County will also be open until 7:20 p.m. ET, a Georgia official said. The extended voting hours will push back the time by which polling places must report results by an hour.

Pennsylvania: Governor Josh Shapiro predicts the state's vote count won't take as long as it did in the 2020 US presidential election. Election workers in Lancaster County have finished opening and scanning more than 50% of the 64,000 mail-in ballots. All mail-in ballots will be counted by midnight.

Michigan: Detroit said it will complete its vote count by midnight on November 5 and state officials will have a better update around 9 p.m. ET.

Wisconsin: Milwaukee will recount about 30,000 absentee ballots after finding evidence that the voting machine doors were not properly closed, Milwaukee city spokesman Jeff Fleming said.

Arizona: Maricopa County, home to the majority of voters in this crucial state, will release the results of the first 1.1 million to 1.2 million ballots at around 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 5, or 1 hour after polls close. This includes ballots sent through Oct. 29.

The final hours

In the 2024 US presidential election, both candidates, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, need at least 270 electoral votes to win.

The battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are expected to play a key role in the path to victory for the Democratic and Republican candidates.

Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris had three votes in the early hours of Election Day in the town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, where polling stations opened and closed from the midnight of November 4 to the morning of November 5, a decades-long tradition.

Polls in parts of Indiana and Kentucky close earlier, at 6 p.m. ET. Most polls in Florida also close at 7 p.m., with the Panhandle closing at 8 p.m. No statewide presidential election results will be predicted until all polls in the state close.

North Carolina extends voting hours in 2 precincts

The North Carolina Board of Elections held an emergency meeting and approved an additional half hour of voting at two polling places that were temporarily closed to voters early on Election Day on November 5 due to technical issues.

Two separate polling locations — one in Burke County in the western part of the state and one in Wilson County, east of Raleigh — will close at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 5.

The polling place in Wilson County experienced some "printer issues that prevented voters from casting ballots for about an hour," said state elections board spokesman Patrick Gannon.

Meanwhile, a laptop problem in Burke County caused delays at the polling station on the morning of November 5.
