On November 25, US President Donald Trump said he did not set a deadline for Ukraine to approve a Washington-backed peace plan. On the Air Force One, he told reporters: "For me, time is the end of everything."
Previously, Mr. Trump had set a deadline for Ukraine to accept the agreement for Thanksgiving (November 27). However, for now, he and his assistants are only saying that they want to have an agreement as soon as possible.
Mr. Trump said that US negotiators are making progress in discussions with Russia and Ukraine. He confirmed that Moscow had agreed to make some transfers but did not disclose details.
A US-psored framework has raised concerns that Washington could pressure Ukraine to sign a Moscow-facing deal.
Mr. Trump said that Russia seems to be dominating the conflict and that reaching a deal would bring the best benefits to Ukraine. He said some Ukrainian territories "may be controlled by Russia" in the next few months.
Regarding the negotiation team, Mr. Trump said that special envoy Steve Witkoff will soon go to Moscow to meet President Putin. Trump's son-in-law - Jared Kushner - is also involved in the process.
Mr. Trump informed that security guarantees for Ukraine are being negotiated with European countries.
