Khanh Hoa - The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of supporting 300,000 VND/student affected by floods to buy uniforms.

Accordingly, the beneficiaries are students from primary to high school studying at public and private schools, continuing education centers and vocational training institutions, belonging to households affected by floods and having difficult economic circumstances.

The support level is 300,000 VND/student, equivalent to 2 sets of uniforms. The total estimated cost is more than 14.234 billion VND, drawn from the Provincial Relief Fund - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province. The support of uniforms is considered necessary, helping students return to school conveniently after the interruption due to natural disasters.

The recent prolonged rain caused widespread damage, many schools were deeply flooded, equipment was damaged, and students had to temporarily rest to ensure safety. The whole province currently has 804 educational institutions with 447,843 students and 21,381 staff and teachers directly affected by natural disasters.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training has promptly issued documents guiding the response to heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides; requested schools to develop disaster prevention plans and arrange support forces to overcome the consequences.

Educational institutions proactively let students stay home from school when conditions are not safe, at the same time, plan teaching compensation and implement measures to protect facilities, documents, and books.

According to the direction of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh, the cleaning of schools must be completed by Thursday (November 27 at the latest).

Localities give the highest priority to repairing school facilities, especially in areas heavily affected.
