The statement by Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter was made in the context of the Israel-Iran conflict entering its fifth day with fierce airstrikes.
Analysts immediately asked whether Washington was expected to take action to destroy a suspected untouchable nuclear hotspot deep in the heart of Irans mountains?
Fordow is one of the most secretive and solid nuclear facilities, considered a nuclear stronghold of Iran, located near the city of Qom, in the north of the country. This place was built deep in the mountains, with an estimated depth of 80-90m, making it extremely difficult to attack from the air.
To shoot down Fordow from the air, currently only the United States is a country that owns such a bomb, Ambassador Leiter stressed. He was referring to the extremely powerful trans fender bomb, designed to destroy underground nuclear targets.
However, the ambassador also said, "there are other ways to deal with Fordow".

Leiter also hinted at a major military campaign that would take place this week: Thursday evening (June 19) and Friday (6.20), there will be surprises that will make the previous beeper campaign in Lebanon like a child's play.
The beeper operation was an Israeli planting of explosives on Hezbollah's communications equipment in September, killing at least 37 people and injuring thousands others.
During the night of June 16 to the morning of June 17 local time, a series of explosions shook the capital Tehran. The target was the headquarters of the state broadcaster IRINN, which was broadcasting live at the time of the attack. Images of the scene show dust and debris flying all over the TV station, before the studio was dark due to a power outage.
Part of the headquarters was destroyed by at least four bombs. Although the TV station restored the airwaves after a few minutes, many reporters and international press protection organizations such as the Committee for Journalists Protection (CPJ) strongly condemned Israel's actions.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the attack, saying the building was a "civilian disguise" facility serving Iranian military purposes.
Meanwhile, Israel continued to issue warnings to citizens to evacuate to shelters, while Iran said it had launched more missiles at locations in northern Israel - a sign that the conflict spiral had not stopped.
In another development, US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio left the G7 summit in Canada early, returning to Washington late on June 16 over the Iran- Israel conflict. According to US officials, President Trump has directed members of his team to try to meet Iranian officials as soon as possible.
Earlier, also on June 16, Mr. Trump warned Irans to "immediately evacuate from Tehran" in a post on Truth Social, without giving a reason. A White House official said the post reflected the urgency of Iran's need to sit at the negotiating table.
