On June 17, Mr. Sam Thanh Hoai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chau Tien Commune, Quy Chau District (Nghe An) said that up to now, the commune has received 6 petitions from people related to debts that the commune has not paid.
Ms. Lang Thi Tam - owner of Homestay Tu Tam in Hoa Tien 2 village - proposed to demand more than 72.5 million VND for food and accommodation; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (Minh Tien village) requested to pay more than 102 million VND.
Mr. Mai Quoc Cuong (Tan Lac town) said that the commune owed more than 221 million VND in stationery and photocopy, while Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong (also in Tan Lac) recommended that the commune pay 138 million VND for making banners and slogans to serve the party congress and election. The total amount of money in the petitions is more than 530 million VND.

"The remaining two petitions, in addition to the debt content, also mentioned other issues. These debts mainly arose before 2021. The Commune People's Committee is continuing to review to confirm each specific case," said Mr. Hoai.
Currently, the commune has paid more than 30 million VND to Ms. Tam and more than 31 million VND to Ms. Thanh.
The inspection team established by the People's Committee of Quy Chau district is urgently verifying the incident. However, the review progress had to be extended because some petitioners were not present in the locality - Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung, Head of the Economic - Infrastructure - Urban - Urban Department of Quy Chau district, Head of the inspection team, confirmed.
"The results are expected to be reported to the district leaders on June 20," said Mr. Hung.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Chau district - Mr. Bui Van Hung - said that after having an official conclusion, the district will synthesize to propose a solution to resolve debts in Chau Tien commune.
