Mr. Kirill Dmitriev - Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation on investment and economic cooperation with countries, and also head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) - said that Europe's refusal of Russian energy products has directly led to the current energy crisis of the bloc.
As predicted a few weeks ago, it is only now that Ms. Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission) has admitted that the energy crisis is serious for the EU. Somehow, she is still too slow to admit that this situation is becoming serious in the EU due to her harmful mistakes when moving away from energy sources from Russia" - TASS quoted Mr. Dmitriev as saying.
Previously, this Russian official also warned that the continued increase in energy and raw material prices would have a major impact on the economy and lead to accelerated inflation.
Mr. Dmitriev also said that a "storm of oil and gas prices" is about to "ravage Europe" because the EU refuses to use Russian energy. He also emphasized that Russia's energy is "reliable and cost-effective".
