According to information from Militarnyi, the airstrike targeted a project identified as a battalion-level command post of the Russian army, located in the area of Novohrodivka city, Donetsk. The attack is believed to have used a JDAM guided bomb, a foreign- aided weapon launched by a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet.
A video posted on Sonyashnyk Telegram, which is related to the Ukrainian air force, shows that the air reconnaissance UAV in Novohrodivka's airspace has recorded the moment the bomb hit the target. In the video, most of the building is flattened, the rest is seriously damaged, showing the great level of destruction of the air strike.
According to information from Ukraine's Deep State website, the city of Novohrodivka is located in an area controlled by Russian troops, about 5km southeast of Pokrovsk city.
The use of JDAM - a type of smart bomb capable of guiding the path using a positioning system - shows that Ukraine continues to take advantage of modern technologies in an effort to weaken the enemy's command and logistics systems. JDAM is capable of hitting targets with high accuracy from a long distance, minimizing the risk for attack forces.
