Ha Tinh After reviewing, the investor determined that there were 58 more households with houses and works affected by the construction of the North-South expressway, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section.

The 2024km Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section of the North - South Eastern Expressway component project in the 2021 - 2025 period has been open to traffic since April 28. However, up to now, compensation and support for households for houses and works cracked and affected by the construction of this expressway project have not been implemented.

On the afternoon of May 11, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh - Chairman of Cam Thinh Commune People's Committee - said that due to the impact of the North - South expressway construction, in the previous review, it was determined that there were 21 households in the locality with damaged and affected houses and works.

Recently, after some households said that their houses were also affected, the project investor reviewed it again. Through the review, it was determined that there were 6 more affected households, bringing the total number of affected households in Cam Thinh commune to 27.

"Up to this point, the Compensation and Support Committee has not yet provided support to the people. They will probably start paying in the near future" - Mr. Thinh shared.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Executive Director of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway project (Thang Long Project Management Board is the investor) - said that previously, the review determined that the construction of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section had 162 households with cracked and affected houses and works.

However, many more households later petitioned that their houses were also affected, so the Board reviewed them again. As a result, 58 more households were affected.

According to Mr. Trung, it is expected that next week, compensation and support will be paid to 162 households for initial review with an amount of about 1.6 billion VND, while for 58 households that will be reviewed later, the compensation level is currently being calculated.

"With 58 households checking their houses and works later, they are also far from the highway and have small cracks, so the compensation is not much" - Mr. Trung shared.

Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, the impact on the construction of the North-South Expressway Component Project, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section, had 158 households in Cam Xuyen district, 4 households in Ky Anh district had cracked houses and works. People hope to soon receive compensation and support to repair their family's houses and works.

However, the delay in payment is due to many more households requesting inspection and assessment of the extent of damage and impact to compensate them. Therefore, the investor's representative coordinated with the insurance company and the contractor to continue reviewing.
