Two Ukrainian military trains , carrying dozens of military equipment, were destroyed in a ballistic missile attack, the Russian Defense Ministry said on July 21, sharing drone footage of attack, RT reported.
The train carrying equipment and personnel of the 41st mechanized brigade was discovered at a station near the town of Barvenkovo, located near the border between Ukraine's Kharkiv Region and the Donetsk People's Republic. Each train includes at least 20 carriages, the ministry said.
Infrared footage captured by a surveillance drone showed a ballistic missile launched from an Iskander-M launcher striking the station, with multiple fires observed on the ground following the attack.
The first attack was followed by another, when a missile struck a second train.
The Russian military estimates that there are more than 60 pieces of military equipment, including 14 US-made MaxxPro mine-resistant ambush vehicles (MRAPs) and 10 Canadian-made Roshel Senator armored personnel carriers (APCs), as well as other Armored vehicles and other vehicles were destroyed. Up to 240 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or wounded in the attack.
In recent weeks, Russian troops have repeatedly targeted redeployed Ukrainian forces, attacking military trains and road convoys, causing heavy casualties and damage to Kiev forces.
