Thailand fires 21 cannons to celebrate the King's 67th birthday

    The 5th Artillery Battalion stationed in Songkhla fired 21 cannons to celebrate the 67th birthday of King Maha Vajirusongkorn on Sunday (28).

    According to The Nation, 21 cannons were fired from 4 cannons at Mahavajiravudh Songkhla school, Muang district, Songkhla province.

    Bangkok Post reported that the government is holding religious and ceremonial events in Bangkok as well as across Thailand to celebrate the 67th birthday of King Maha Vajirusongkorn.

    Phatcharaphon Insiyong - an official at the Thai Prime Minister's Office said that Prime Minister prayut Chan-o-cha presided over a ceremony to offer a sacrifice to monks in Sanam Luang at 7am with the participation of government officials.

    At 7:30 p.m. the same day, the Thai Prime Minister will host a ceremony under the candlelight to wish the king. Similar events will be held simultaneously across the country and at Thai embassies and consulates abroad.
