According to the latest news on the Nord Stream case from TASS, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said that Western countries are trying to manipulate the results of a 2-year investigation into the pipeline sabotage case.
"Two years have passed, and Western countries have not only failed to conduct an investigation but have also tried to fabricate the results of the investigation" - SVR emphasized.
The statement added: "The Russian intelligence agency SVR continues to collect information about the background of a series of explosions in the Baltic Sea on September 26, 2022. New details have continuously emerged, confirming the thesis that Sergey Naryshkin's agency director has raised about the involvement of the Anglo-Saxon people in the above incidents. available intelligence clearly shows that the attack on the pipeline is an act of international terrorism and an economic war by the Anglo-Saxon against their European allies, mainly Germany."
The statement said that the SVR has information about the decision made by the West to create a misinformation campaign before the anniversary of the Nord Stream attack, emphasizing that the attack was carried out only by Ukrainian extremist groups and acted independently.
"Although this version is not criticized, it is the one that is imposed on German investigating agencies as the main one. They have been given the ultimatum to quickly complete the investigation by the end of the year, attributing the attack to "Ukrainian adventurers who hate Russia" - the SVR said.
According to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, although the West is trying to remove the Nord Stream sabotage from the international information agenda, there are still independent politicians and experts in Western countries who want to know the truth about what happened.
"The terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipeline has caused irreparable damage to the European economy. Regarding this issue, the Russian SVR requested an objective investigation," the statement concluded.
Also related to the Nord Stream incident, Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that all those behind the Nord Stream sabotage must be held responsible.
"I believe that the initiators and perpetrators of the Nord Stream sabotage must be held accountable. There is no statute of limitations here," TASS quoted Russian State Duma Chairman Volodin as saying.
The Russian politician noted that it has been two years since the attacks on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. Investigations into the Nord Stream by Germany, Denmark and Sweden have not yet yielded results, with the investigations by Denmark and Sweden all over.
"They cannot blame some pro-Ukrainian groups and civilian divers. We do not believe in such investigations," Volodin stressed.
According to him, in the Nord Stream sabotage, "Germany suffered the most damage - the economy fell into recession, GDP declined, the production model was broken and the number of bankruptcies in this country reached a record high in the past few years".
