On September 19 (local time), the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that leader Kim Jong Un had just completed a three-day inspection trip (from September 16 to 18) at key ammunition factories to grasp the actual production situation and direct the defense industry.
During the inspection, Mr. Kim Jong Un emphasized that the powerful artillery force is the core to prevent and conduct war.
The head of North Korea affirmed that the breakthroughs in modernizing national defense capabilities mark an important shift in both the organizational structure, combat vehicles and warfare response plans of the country's armed forces.
The North Korean leader requested military industrial facilities to constantly expand production capacity, modernize technological processes, and improve the level of application of artificial intelligence (AI) to attack and defense weapon systems.
In addition, he also directed factories to continue to strengthen armor capability and automation level for the entire artillery system.
