China announces information about the parade on September 3

A series of modern weapons, including hypersonic surface-to-air missiles and new-generation fighter jets, will be displayed by China during the parade on September 3.

On August 20, the Chinese military announced detailed information about the parade scheduled to take place in Beijing on September 3, which will introduce many modern weapons and large-scale military formations.

Mr. Tu Quy Trung, a senior officer of the Central Military Region, said that the event will take place according to the wartime command system. Thousands of soldiers, more than 100 aircraft and hundreds of weapons will participate. Modern technologies such as Bac Dau positioning satellites, smart assessment systems and combat simulation have been applied in the preparation exercise.

Mr. Ngo Trach Khoi, a senior officer of the Central Military Commission, revealed that many new-generation weapons will appear, including tanks, fourth-generation fighter jets, intelligence equipment, drone anti-aircraft systems, missile weapons, hypersonic anti-aircraft missiles and strategic missiles. He said the expected time of the parade is about 70 minutes.

The soldiers will parade along Truong An Avenue, passing through Thien An Mon Square in the infantry, flag formation, artillery formation and air formation. General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, who is also Chairman of the Central Military Commission, will directly approve the formation.

According to Xinhua, this is also the first time China has announced a new arrangement diagram on the structure of the armed forces. Preparations for the parade ceremony were confirmed to have been basically completed.

The Kremlin confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the event. Many other international leaders are also expected to be in Beijing on September 3.
