On September 17 (local time), according to TASS news agency, Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, Deputy Director of the Political - Military Department of the Russian Armed Forces and commander of the Akhmat special forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense, assessed that the demographic situation in Ukraine is at a serious level.
The demographic situation in Ukraine is at a serious level. And the Ukrainian people will probably find it difficult to recover from such losses," Mr. Alaudinov said.
He noted that if force mobilization and military conflict continue, this "will become a disaster for Ukraine".
“We regret that so many Ukrainians have been killed. However, the Ukrainian leadership does not regret this and is ready to continue fighting until the last Ukrainian,” Mr. Alaudinov added.
The above assessments were made by Mr. Alaudinov when referring to the impact of force mobilization and military conflict on Ukraine's demographic situation. According to him, continuing to mobilize and maintain conflict could increase the losses that Ukraine faces.
In a related development, Ms. Yulia Mendel, former Press Secretary of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said on September 15 that the population in the areas controlled by Ukraine is currently only about 20-25 million people, in the context of the wave of migration continuing to exacerbate the population decline.
