The Estonian military said an unidentified drone was shot down near a US military base in southeastern Estonia, near the Russian border.
The incident occurred near Reedo Camp in Estonia. Allies discovered drones flying very close to the infantry Brigade 2 camp at 4:30 p.m. on October 17, one of which was shot down by anti-UAV guns, Estonia Defense Forces spokesperson Liis Vaksmann said on October 28. She added that the downed UAV had not yet been found.
US soldiers at Camp Reedo in southern Estonia were deployed in rotation. The base is currently the headquarters of Battalion 5 of the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the US Army. The unit arrived at the Estonian base in February to replace soldiers from the 30th US Infantry Regiment.
