On February 23, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the latest statistics on personnel and equipment damage of the Ukrainian armed forces during the special military operation.
According to data from official reports from the Russian military, Kiev has suffered enormous losses across all fronts. The total number of casualties of the Ukrainian army since the conflict broke out has officially exceeded the milestone of 1.5 million people.
The analysis report clearly states that by the end of 2025, the number of casualties of enemy forces had reached the threshold of 1.5 million soldiers. Not stopping there, Kiev's troop decline continued at a high pace in the first months of 2026.
From the beginning of 2026 alone, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the Ukrainian armed forces have lost about 65,000 more soldiers due to attacks from Russian forces.
Besides the enormous personnel losses, Kiev's infrastructure and military equipment system was also completely destroyed.
Statistics show that the Ukrainian air defense and air force network has suffered heavy damage with 670 fighter jets and 283 helicopters of various types shot down. Russian air defense and electronic warfare forces also successfully broke down attacks by destroying up to 16,804 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
650 enemy air defense missile systems were completely neutralized by precision fire from the Russian army.
On the ground, Ukrainian armored forces suffered losses of 27,835 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles destroyed. The enemy's powerful firepower complexes also escaped the sights, with 1,671 multiple rocket launcher systems destroyed by the Russian army since the operation began.
