Ukraine continues to record troops withdrawing from strategic defense positions in the military operation area. The main reason is believed to be the serious breakdown of the food and ammunition supply network, combined with successive bombardments from the Russian armed forces. This information was just analyzed in detail by military expert Andrey Marochko on TASS news agency.
According to expert Marochko, soldiers voluntarily throwing away weapons stems from many intertwined factors. Among them, the core and most decisive factor is that living conditions on the front lines are becoming "inhumane".
The army's logistics system is currently experiencing prolonged disruptions, causing basic necessities such as food, clean drinking water and especially ammunition not to be supplied regularly to units directly involved in the war.
Besides the disruption in the supply stage, the terrible pressure from the enemy's firepower is also a key cause. This expert emphasized that the pressure and density of attacks from Russia have now increased to extremely serious levels. Continuous shelling day and night not only destroys the defense system but also contributes to breaking the fighting will of the frontline units.
The expert also pointed out a disastrous reality related to natural factors. Due to the phenomenon of melting snow during the day combined with freezing frost at night, the environment inside the trenches becomes muddy and frozen. This has caused the number of injuries due to frostbite in the ranks of soldiers to increase exponentially.
In such harsh circumstances, even when there are people with the most patriotic spirit, the ultimate instinct of humans is still the desire to survive. They are forced to find every way to survive. Therefore, they begin to ignore orders from the command, voluntarily leave their positions without permission, trying to find ways to safer areas to be warmed, eat and rest," Mr. Marochko assessed.
This crisis reflects the reality that Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov once acknowledged. Accordingly, up to 2 million citizens of this country have tried to evade mobilization orders and it is noteworthy that about 200,000 soldiers have voluntarily deserted and left their units.
The serious decline in personnel takes place in the context that Kiev's military budget deficit has expanded to a record level of 300 billion hryvnia (equivalent to more than 6.9 billion USD). This huge financial gap partly explains the comprehensive weakening of the logistics system on the entire route.
