The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that, according to the proposal of the Ukrainian side, on the afternoon of February 17, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son held a phone call with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister affirmed that Ukraine attaches importance to the friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, and welcomed Vietnam's stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son affirmed that as a friend of Russia and Ukraine, Vietnam has consistently maintained a balanced and objective stance in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, emphasizing that all disputes need to be resolved by peaceful means, in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter; supporting the international community's mediation efforts to seek long-term peaceful solutions to the conflict with the participation of all relevant parties.

Vietnam is ready to provide a location for the parties to meet, negotiate and participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the conflict.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha agreed to maintain contacts and delegation exchanges at all levels, and soon hold a political consultation at the Deputy Foreign Minister level.
