WHO Emergency Program Director Mike Ryan said that there have been major advances in the search for vaccines, but there is no guarantee of success. Meanwhile, countries must use existing strategies, such as social isolation and traceability of disease-related cases.
"Many countries, through the application of a comprehensive strategy, have achieved very low epidemic transmission rates in their countries, but must always be vigilant in case of clusters or small outbreaks," said Mr. Mike Ryan.
