The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will be the host of VTV Cup 2026 held from August 8 to August 15 at Vinh Yen Gymnasium (Phu Tho).
According to Lao Dong Newspaper, the list of 7 foreign guest teams participating in VTV Cup 2026 is identified as: Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC (Thailand), Korabelka (Russia), Dinamo Anapa (Russia), Guangdong (China), Ha Nam (China), King Whale (North China Taipei) and Kuanysh (Kazakhstan).
Last year, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost to Korabelka team in the VTV Cup 2025 final, so they only got the runner-up position. This year, the tournament is predicted to have fierce competition in terms of expertise because the guests are all qualified teams.
Among the 7 guests, Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC team is the reigning Thai women's volleyball champion.
Notably, middle blocker Ly Thi Luyen of the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team has played for Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC team at the beginning of this year and won the championship in Thailand.
In addition, coach Kittipong Rakchartyingcheep of Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC was once a specialist of the Hanoi women's volleyball team in 2025. This team also has a runner-up position at the 2026 Asian Women's Club Cup (AVC Champions League 2026).
In 2023, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team once competed against the King Whale team at the Asian Women's Club Cup held in Vinh Yen (Phu Tho). In 2024, the Kuanysh team once lost to the LPBank Ninh Binh women's team of Vietnam in the semi-finals of the Asian Women's Club Cup held in Thailand.
