The volleyball event of ASIAD 20 has 4 events included in the competition including men's and women's indoor volleyball and men's and women's beach volleyball.
The football event at this year's Games in Japan will organize 2 events including men's and women's grass football. The Asian Olympic Council (OCA) and the host Organizing Committee will draw lots for the competition content on July 23.
Recently, OCA also announced that, in addition to football and volleyball, the sports that will organize the time draw above are sepak takraw, handball, water polo, kabaddi, cricket, 7-a-side rugby.
Most recently, the list of 32 indoor volleyball teams to participate in ASIAD 20 has been announced. In which, Vietnam Sports registered for men's and women's teams to play in Japan.
The 16 men's indoor volleyball teams at ASIAD 20 are Japan (host), Iran (defending champion), Vietnam, Pakistan, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Qatar, Bahrain, Taiwan (China), India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong (China) and the Philippines.
16 women's indoor volleyball teams will participate in ASIAD 20 including Japan (host), China (defending champion), Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Iran, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Qatar, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, DPRK and Philippines.
Currently, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is present in the Philippines to participate in the AVC Cup 2026 from June 6 to June 14.
