After the outstanding achievements of Vietnamese football in the past time such as winning the ASEAN Cup 2024, winning the U17 Southeast Asian Championship 2026, third place at the U23 Asian Championship 2026 or winning a ticket to the U17 World Cup 2027, how do you assess the role of communication in spreading these successes?
- VFF Vice President Nguyen Xuan Vu: The important milestones recently come first of all from the efforts, bravery and thorough preparation of the national teams and coaching staff; the thorough preparation of the Federation. However, for those achievements to truly spread and become inspiration in social life, the role of the media is indispensable.
The press not only reflects the results of matches but also recounts stories behind the field, contributing to bringing the image of Vietnamese football closer to millions of fans. It can be said that the media is the "emotional bridge", helping to transform sports achievements into the pride of the nation.

When the number of fans and media attention to the national teams is increasing, what has the VFF done to ensure that information is provided quickly, accurately and equally to press agencies?
- VFF always identifies the overarching principle as transparency, timeliness and synchronization in providing information. Official content about the team is updated according to a unified process, ensuring that all press agencies access the same source of data, at the same time.
All information is made public on VFF's information channels. The Media Department has the task of transferring it to press agencies as quickly as possible.
We are strengthening the application of digital platforms to maximize information exploitation quickly while still ensuring accuracy.
In major tournaments such as the Asian Cup, ASEAN Cup..., what is the most notable change of VFF in supporting reporters to work and access information from teams?
- The clearest change is the shift from a reaction model to proactively serving the media. VFF arranges media staff to accompany the team, playing the role of focal point supporting the press throughout the tournament. At the same time, we proactively provide images, data and behind-the-scenes information, helping domestic reporters have a full, quality and timely source of materials.
One of the things that many press agencies highly appreciate is that VFF regularly provides information quickly, accurately and fully. Can you share more about the current coordination process between the VFF media department and press agencies?
- The coordination process between VFF and the press is built on the spirit of accompanying and supporting each other. The VFF communication department always maintains a two-way exchange mechanism, listening to information needs from reporters, and proactively providing official data consistently.
The two sides maintain regular connections to ensure that information about Vietnamese football is clear, accurate and constructive.

Some opinions say that the success of Vietnamese football in recent times comes not only from expertise but also thanks to the companionship of the press in spreading the image of the team. How do you assess the role of the press in that journey?
VFF highly appreciates the role of the press in the overall development of Vietnamese football. The press not only reflects but also contributes to shaping the image, spreading positive values and creating strong social effects from each achievement on the football field.
In difficulties, the press is an important source of spiritual encouragement; in success, the press is a bridge to bring Vietnamese football closer to fans and social resources.
Many reporters assess that approaching players, coaches or the team's activities has become more convenient than before. What is your assessment of this change?
- VFF always considers press access to information as part of professional communication work. The team's activities are organized according to plan, while still ensuring professional space and players' physical condition, and arranging appropriate time frames for reporters to work. The goal is to create a balance between the team's professional requirements and the information needs of the media.
In the context of strong social network development, how does VFF both take advantage of digital platforms to spread the image of Vietnamese football and ensure that official information reaches fans?
VFF identifies social networks as an important channel in spreading the image of Vietnamese football quickly, visually and closely to fans. From 2016 to now, the Federation continues to synchronously develop social network platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Zalo... with rich and diverse content from videos, images to visual data serving communication work.
However, the core factor is still to ensure authenticity, unity in information between VFF channels and press agencies, thereby both ensuring the speed of spread and maintaining the reliability and accuracy of information to fans.
On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21), what do you want to send to journalists and reporters who have been and are accompanying Vietnamese football throughout the past time?
- On behalf of VFF, I would like to express my deep gratitude to generations of journalists and sports reporters who have always accompanied Vietnamese football throughout its development journey.
The dedication, responsibility and professionalism of the journalists have made an important contribution to spreading the positive image of national football. Wishing the Journalists to always maintain their professional enthusiasm and continue to accompany Vietnamese football on the journey towards new goals.
