On the evening of June 20, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 continued to take place the fourth competition night with the theme "Creation", witnessing the competition between Steffes-Ollig Feuerwerke GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) and Apple Pyrotechnics Co., Ltd (Macao, China).
After three nights of competition with the themes of Nature, Heritage and Culture, the "Creation" night brought the audience into the space of bold ideas expressed in the language of light. The two teams brought opposing performance styles but both aim to conquer new limits of fireworks art.
Participating in DIFF for the first time, the German team performed the work "Pyrographics", turning the Han River sky into a "fire painting" with firework effects programmed synchronously with music.
Golden firecracker clusters, gold-plated crowns, silver paintbrushes and multi-layered detached firecrackers continuously appeared, creating a performance rich in visuals and modernity.
Meanwhile, the Macau (China) team chose an emotional storytelling style with the work "Celestial Journey to the West".
Inspired by the classic work Journey to the West, the performance combines symphonic music, electronic music and water flower effects, recreating the familiar mythological journey through the language of light.
According to the Organizing Committee, DIFF 2026 continues to create great attraction for Da Nang's tourism industry. After the first three nights of competition, accommodation establishments in the city served more than 326,000 visitors, an increase of 36.7% compared to the same period in 2025. In which, international visitors reached more than 136,000, an increase of 33.7%; domestic visitors reached nearly 190,000, an increase of 38.9%.
The average room occupancy rate in the whole city reached over 70%, an increase of about 20% compared to the same period. In the third night of the competition alone, the number of overnight visitors reached nearly 115,000, and the room occupancy rate reached 75%.
Not only fireworks, the fourth competition night was also a vibrant music festival with the participation of many artists such as Muoi, Hoang Long, the Golden Lotus Children's group and singer Trong Hieu. Youthful and modern music performances contributed to spreading the creative and dynamic spirit of the city by the Han River.
According to the schedule, the next competition night of DIFF 2026 will take place on June 27 with the competition between Australia and Portugal with the theme "Vision". The final night will be held on July 11.
