In recent days, students in the Intern Court Session Club of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law have been diligently building and practicing a comedy play incorporating legal situations on labor, civil, criminal... to prepare for performance in the Legal Consulting Program for about 3,000 workers organized by Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Bar Federation, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, expected to take place at the end of June.

Witnessing the students practicing, we were very touched and happy with the dedication, effort in practicing and acting ability of the students when conveying dry legal situations into vivid dialogues, actions, and expressions.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh - Head of the Intern Session Club of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law - said that you have about 5 practice sessions and everyone is trying hard, looking forward to the day to participate in the program - a big festival for workers. "In addition to the joy of contributing to the community, this is also a good opportunity for you to gain more knowledge about the law in the field of labor" - Ms. Nhu Quynh said.

Master Kim Nguyen Hong Minh - Member of the Standing Committee of the School Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Criminal Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, in charge of the Trainee Court Session Club of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law - said that participating in the program is a good opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they have learned to practice, practice research skills and propagate law to the community. The school also always encourages students to actively participate in activities to contribute to society, especially programs of dissemination and legal education, because this is an environment that helps them both consolidate professional knowledge and raise awareness of responsibility to society and the profession in the future.

Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Media Agency of the Vietnam Bar Federation, said that the Vietnam Bar Federation has sent nearly 30 experienced lawyers in the fields of labor, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, criminal, civil, land, marriage and family... to advise and answer directly to workers participating in the program.

Contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations

According to lawyer Nguyen Van Hau, in the context of increasingly diverse and complex labor relations, many legal regulations directly related to the rights and obligations of workers are regularly updated and supplemented, improving legal understanding for workers becomes an urgent requirement. Reality recorded at enterprises shows that many workers are still limited in accessing legal information. Some cases do not fully understand their rights and obligations, so they are easily infringed upon their rights or have acts of violating labor regulations and legal regulations due to lack of understanding.

Lawyer Hau believes that the legal advice program for workers is a very practical activity to strengthen the legal shield for workers. This is not just a simple propaganda activity but also has the meaning of accompanying and supporting workers in the process of working, working and living in large cities like Ho Chi Minh City. "When workers understand the law, they will comply with the company's internal labor regulations, comply with the law, behave appropriately and know how to use legal tools to protect their legitimate rights, thereby limiting unnecessary labor disputes" - Lawyer Hau emphasized.

And Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that trade union levels in Ho Chi Minh City always pay attention to propaganda and dissemination of laws to union members and workers through many diverse forms such as organizing dialogues, legal advice, law-finding contests, online propaganda, and distributing propaganda materials at enterprises... The Legal Consulting Center of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has annually consulted thousands of times directly and online for union members and workers, helping to protect workers' rights.

However, according to Mr. Thai, in the face of increasingly high practical requirements, coordinating with a team of lawyers to organize large-scale legal advice programs will help improve the quality of legal propaganda, while creating conditions for workers to directly access experienced legal experts.

The coordination of the 3 units to organize this legal advice program will be very useful, helping workers better understand the law to comply with the law and labor regulations of enterprises, thereby contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations. In particular, the program makes an important contribution to the good and effective implementation of Directive No. 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee "On strengthening the Party's leadership in propaganda, political, ideological, and legal education for workers in the new situation", and is also a practical activity to celebrate the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031", Mr. Vo Khac Thai shared.
