Bayern Munich entered the game not really favorably when Stuttgart actively pushed up the squad and created the first dangerous opportunity. Ramon Hendriks made a cross for Grischa Prömel to head the ball to Tiago Tomás' position. However, the Stuttgart striker could not take advantage when his close-range shot hit the crossbar.
After the first minutes of being pressured by the opponent, Bayern gradually controlled the game. Michael Olise also had a chance to open the score from a free kick situation, but the French player's shot hit the post.
In the 21st minute, Bayern broke the deadlock. Joshua Kimmich took an accurate corner kick for Dayot Upamecano to rush in and head in, putting the home team ahead 1-0.
Bayern then had more opportunities to increase the gap. Luis Diaz once escaped to face goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow but could not score. Stuttgart's goalkeeper continued to play excellently with saves against Olise and Konrad Laimer, helping the away team only be led by one goal after the first half.
Stuttgart unexpectedly found an equalizer right at the beginning of the second half. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer saved Jeff Chabot's header but could not prevent Josha Vagnoman from successfully rebounding, bringing the match back to balance in the 52nd minute.
However, Stuttgart's joy only lasted for a few minutes. Joshua Kimmich continued to play the role of creator when putting the ball in a favorable position for Olise. The French player calmly finished, helping Bayern re-establish the advantage in the 55th minute.
Just two minutes later, Stuttgart continued to concede a goal. Alphonso Davies made a cross into the penalty area and Vagnoman unintentionally put the ball into his own net. From the equalizer, the Stuttgart defender became the one who made a mistake, causing the away team to be led 1-3.
Bayern then maintained pressure and continuously put Stuttgart's defense in a state of alarm. Olise once put the ball into the net for the second time but the goal was disallowed due to offside.
In the final minutes, Bayern continued to show superiority. Newcomer Ismael Saibari came on and quickly made his mark with two assists. He successively created conditions for Aleksandar Pavlovic to score to increase the score to 4-1 in the 82nd minute, before passing the ball to Luis Diaz to score in injury time.
The 5-1 victory helps Bayern Munich have an impressive start in the 2026-2027 Bundesliga. Coach Vincent Kompany's team shows diverse attacking ability, and continues to receive significant contributions from new players.
In round 2 of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich will be a guest at Schalke Stadium at 11:30 p.m. on September 5 (Vietnam time).
